I live in a two bedroom house with a separate studio rental above the garage. The house and studio are on the same utilities so I get sent all the bills and previously I had just charged the tenant $100 and all was fine. Now, however, the new tenant is my property managers son and suddenly $100 seems astronomical to her so she is attempting to halve his contribution. Is it even legal for these separate units to be on the same water/gas/sewer hookups? What can I do to make sure they pay their fair share?
