Help! What caused this?

If this is a seperate screen and not a laptop....check all the connections...to the screen....go so far as take each connector out and put back in.....this is not a virus....this is a screen going bad.....it will do this from time to time...and then eventually it won't even come on......I hope i am wrong...but from what i have read and seen online....maybe time for a new monitor................
